Q: What unique services does your Company offer? A: We offer services many other self-Publishing companies do not, such as: video book trailers, Author mobile Apps, Free website review, website design, social media networking, and QR integrated marketing. Q: Do I really need Editing Services? A: Editing is one of the most critical elements in the book publishing process. As the publisher, you will want an objective, well-trained editor to review your manuscript. Our professional editors are experienced in the industry and follow the Chicago Manual of Style editorial guidelines. Q: Should I get an Editorial Consultation? A: Yes, if your book is longer than 15,000 words. The Editorial Consultation will recommend an editing service that is best for your book, provide a small sample of that editing service in your manuscript, and may give you some suggestions for revisions. The book review service will assess how well your book speaks to your target audience, identify language errors (grammar, spelling, punctuation or word choice), and provide feedback on the organization of your content. Q: Should I purchase formatting? A: Formatting is necessary to meet the distribution requirements for eBooks. In addition you want your book to look clean, professional and organized. You may be unfamiliar with the formatting options in your word processor and you want to make sure your book looks the way you intended. Q: Can I provide my own image/photo/illustration for my book cover? A: Yes. The photo must be in an image format (i.e. JPG, TIF, GIF, PNG) at 300 DPI. We offer scanning services for non-digital photographs for a small additional fee. Q: What should I put on my back cover? A: Your back cover is your first impression for your book. It is your first marketing tool, so it should repeat the cover title a brief summary of the book.You should have an author photo, testimonials about the book, or add a line from a review. We offer Clarion and Kirkus Reviews here. In addition, there may also be space for a short author biography. Q: What if I don’t like or agree with the comments and changes made by the editor? A: The content you publish is completely up to you. If you don’t agree with a change made by the editor, you can simply reject it. Q: Will my formatted book be the same length as my manuscript? A: The formatting process does affect the page count of the book. This happens for many reasons, including adding or removing blank pages, removing excessive hard returns, changing font styles and sizes, changing the page size, and more. Q: Where will my video Book Trailer appear? A: Your Book Trailer will appear on YouTube, your website, and linked to your Protégé Author Page. The video is yours and you can promote it wherever you wish. Q: How does the video producer decided what imagery to use for my book? A: We will provide you with a questionnaire, the answers you offer will help drive the artistic direction of your trailer. Please consider your answers carefully as our design producer will not be reading your book in its entirety. Q: Who writes the content for the webpage? A: You provide us with all the content you want on your webpage. Q: How long will the webpage design process take? A: Once we have all of your information, you can expect the initial mockups within seven business days. After your review, we’ll take about five days to make revisions, and your site will go live within two days of final approval. Q: How will readers find my webpage? A: Having a webpage nobody can find is useless. That’s why we include Search Engine Optimization with every webpage. This ensures that anyone searching for your author name, book title, or relevant key words has a better chance of finding you.
