Urban Airship reported that in the six months following an Apps download less than 20% of users who didn’t receive push notification remained users, while 30% of users who received notifications from the start were still utilizing the App.
Although every Apps’ push notifications will be different, here are several uses:

- Encourage engagement though contest
- Offer exclusive discounts or deals
- Event reminders and announcements
